The Curse of Routine

Sure - many of you might not have noticed, but that’s essentially the POINT! You’re being robbed. Every single day when you are locked into your routines, you feel comfortable. You don’t stretch. I was in Santa Cruz a couple of years back (I was supposed to head down to Santa Cruz again this year [...]

Stages of Change

Here’s an interesting model for change, which I found after doing some research on the web.
The stages and processes are described by Prochaska, DiClemente and Norcross (1992).
1. Precontemplation: Individual has the problem (whether he/she recognises it or not) and has no intention of changing.
Processes:

I realized how fortunate I am to be in a new home with a new office and great new facilities and amenities around me. A lot of the things that I am doing right now have given me a boost to my future direction. It’s been more than just a new move to me. It’s [...]

I think it’s a progressive documentary that will connect with you as a [...]

Finding Purpose Part 4: Lessons from Tom Hanks

I did a quick poll a couple of years back to realize that there are about 70% of students in Singapore (based on the number of schools that I’ve been to), who have no idea where they want to go after they finish their studies. the risk gets higher the lower their standard of education [...]

Finding Purpose Part 3

You know the old adage “Confusion means you are learning”. I’d like to update that a bit - being aware and acknowledging that you are confused means you are learning. For most part of 2005, I was confused and was battling a lot of the confusion inside myself. A whole series of things seemed to [...]

Finding Purpose Part 2

In a discussion I had with a friend, he mentioned we have two sides – the side the public sees, and the dark side that only we ourselves see. In my opnion, this dark side is the side that you are afraid to let anyone know about, that you want to hold captive so as [...]
