Bad times: It happens to the best of us
I don’t know what it was for Friday the 13th for you, but from what I heard from one of my friends, it was a horrendous experience. I had a quick email that summarized it all, and the root of it sounded like conspiracy and backstabbing to me.
There was a glitch in some paperwork in this friend’s office, and it turned out that a group of leaders from this friend’s community actually started to accuse this friend of ‘deliberately’ creating this glitch in paperwork. Lies flowed from lies that were used to cover sorry egos… something I’ve seen before, and never got used to. The people who accused this friend of mine were never really in control of their own feelings, and they actually ended up destroying the impression I had of them. Unfortunately, some of these people actually belong to a very well-known local organization, and I don’t think I want to fan flames, so I’ll leave the names out conveniently here.
It’s sad to see that there are people who are highly motivated and willing to create win-win situations balk at simple accusations simply just to hide their ego. My friend simply said “leave it to God”, and I think it was said rightfully - that nothing could remedy the situation, and the more my friend were to do, the more likely the accusations will fly again.
Hopefully, people in the community of leadership will come to their senses and begin something to help this friend of mine, as well as their own egos. People who don’t admit their own mistakes are hardly community leaders - they are petty, little people.
Well, it’s probably just a bad day for my friend, but I hope yours was much better.
For me, my Friday 13th was marked by fever and flu. *shrug*. Maybe I ought to be thankful I wasn’t stabbed in the back…

Hi Stuart,
i don’t believe in Friday the 13th. Good and bad things happen everyday to everyone but somehow Fri 13 causes some people to zoom in only on the bad things that happen and overlook the good ones.
For me, last Friday turned out to be a jolly good day. Despite getting lost at CBD(and as a result drove into and out of the ERP gantry 3 times within 10 mins when it was in operation)while attempting to locate the place where i was supposed to have dinner with my favorite POE coach, forgetting at which BUILDING i had parked my car after dinner, getting stuck in the heavy CBD traffic for 45 mins after i found my car, and falling really sick near midnight, i was happy as a lark at the end of the day because my coach turned up for dinner without incident :)
The reason why i didn’t feel particularly bad about getting lost and stuck at CBD was because i am ALWAYS lost at CBD anyways and know that traffic there is almost always bad especially on a Friday evening. And i can’t blame Fri 13th for not being able to find my car cos i often lose my car a few times on a normal day anyways.
The one good thing i chose to focus on which doesn’t come by everyday is that i got to catch up with someone that i had wanted to get to know better and i was delighted that he managed to show up. I went to bed that night deciding that it had been a great day for me.

Excellent!
I suppose whatever we choose to focus on is what we will get. Things get as good or as bad as we see fit, and the only way to success is to believe that everything happens for a purpose. Bad times will lead us to great times… if we allow it to happen!
