Staying healthy
For most of us guys in Singapore, staying healthy is not an option: it’s a requirement. After all, it’s compulsory for each of us to have to pass our annual IPPT. now, when you’re birthdays around a corner, you start to panic because you ask itself, and I really put into all that much effort in maintaining my health! So much for all of that…
What really is important, is for us to realize that stay healthy isn’t supposed to be a government initiative. After all it’s going to determine how successful you will be in your life. For instance, you can have all the money in the world, and and of spending the money to regain your health. That is, if you didn’t focus on retaining your health in the first place.
For the most part, health is not always on the top of a minds. What is at the top of your mind? Perhaps it’s about getting to work on time. And when that turns into a must, you simply end up thinking about it every single monent.
What about exercise? If it is not on your priority list, then what is so strange about you forgetting to exercise? It’s important that you realize that your priority in your life will come about as a result of your experiences. Someone who has had a near death experience because his arteries were clogged up and he suffered for three months without being able to breeze properly, and now has a second chance and living his life more healthily, I suspect, will live his life with health as the priority.
Do you really want to wait until that time arrives? Staying healthy is not just about having to moan or groan about your muscles going week and you’re having to perspire and feel all sweaty and grimy. it’s something else. It’s assessing what’s the first image that comes to your mind when you wake up in the morning.
If you do this on a consistent basis, I’m sure that you will think about health and find new ways in which you can strengthen yourself, establish a higher level of endurance, and much much more. When you wake up, but the picture of yourself going out for some exercise. It could include swimming, jogging, or even brisk walking. Anything that can get you up from your bed and out on an exercise routine.
If you prefer to do this when you get back from work, what you really need to do is to remind yourself that when you reach home, no matter how tired you are, you have to exercise. After all it is because you’re not fit that’s why you’re tired!Â
As with everything, until a reason comes about, health tends to fall in the wayside and other things tend to take over. When you stop that thinking pattern, and instead focus on what needs to be done and feeling good about how you feel after the exercise, you realize that staying healthy can be a breeze.
But aside from fitness, one of the things that we may have to continue to do on a day to day basis is to pay attention to what we are eating! If you eat junk, it’s going to turn out less healthy for you. Sometimes, I end up finding that there’s very little of variety around the place at work and therefore I subscribe to eating conveniently. As I continue my journey in maintaining my health, I also want to eliminate this bad habit. So, one of the things I will be doing, is seeking out food that is more beneficial for me from an energy standpoint rather than just playing convenience for time. After all, working four to five hours a day with pain, it’s probably not worth it.
Build a new habit and let’s see if this is sustainable!
