The Psychology of Realization
I’m at that moment where the universe seems to have opened up itself to me. The sudden flash of realization.
I’m not sure if you’ve had such a flash of realization before. I do know, however, that the process by which this took place was a combination of patience, confusion, worry and a tinge of frustration. They seem to be the necessary ingredients, in order to have a clarity in one’s life.
What was I realizing? In my own private moments, I think of what I’ve been doing, then I think of what I’m feeling. Sometimes, what I do doesn’t make me feel what I’d like to feel. It’s a journey of fulfilment that we are on. But I’m not saying that’s no good. It’s great! It’s wonderful to know that there’s something you don’t like. It’s even amazing to know that there are things that you prefer not to do. I guess it’s always a thing worth discovering in oneself.
Whenever we come to realization, it’s not the good or bad feelings that come with it that matter. It’s the fact that you know you have limitations and strengths, and you find ways to capitalize on that to progress and be better.
Self awareness and realization come so closely together. If you have not yet understood yourself, then you might well want to spend some quiet time to explore your values, strengths and the like. We all say we need to spend time with our loved ones, right? How much time do you really spend with yourself? Knowing yourself more will only strengthen your consciousness of what you are, and allow you to be clearer in whatever you do.
