Work, Satisfaction and Attitude
I’ve met a number of different people and come to see that many of them have a different sense of the world. For instance, I just met someone who is diligent in work, but has a sad interior. Yet, I’ve found someone also recently who has a happy exterior but doesn’t do work very well. Strange, but I suppose it’s just the way I see things.
Work is a part of our life. Our negativity is also a part of us. I tend to believe we were destined to create complications for ourselves. We are just walking paradoxes, that we are strong and weak at the same time, happy and sad at the same time, and all of these complications. Being human, though, we need to fight the tendencies that we choose not to have. Often, if we hold on to the wrong beliefs, we will start choosing to go down a path of sadness and pain. Comparatively, if you chose differently, you’d be a little more satisfied with life rather than being accepting of the pain.
Then again, I do know that pain is a rite of passage for many people. Perhaps it’s not right of me to suggest that we should stop accepting pain, because pain is a very good teacher.
What I can say is that the attitude one has is a reflection of one’s past. IF you want to shift your attitude, however, you have to change your present. No matter the trials you experience and the pains you face, you will always need to bring for yourself that sparkle in your eye. Perhaps you have that when you are with someone else. Perhaps it’s when you do something you deem to be meaningful.
Whatever the case, work with the right attitude in mind. One of the biggest regrest I have is not really extending myself when I could at certain important points in my life. Today, I do my best not to have to live in that regret. It’s not comfortable, and it’s not always the healthy choice, but I know that the drive can be something that people look up to and therefore learn from.
Life can be strange, if we treat life as if we owned it. We don’t. Life is full of surprises and rude shocks. It’s really time for us to ensure that the way we lead our lives is demonstrated in the way we work, and how we derive satisfaction for our own growth and continued contemplation of our existence and why we are alive.
