Searching For Direction, Perspective, Some tongue-in-cheek humor and Purpose? Seek to engage your mind, develop yourself and become a master of your own being. Here are my reflections of life and living, self-coaching and personal introspection.
The meaningful of doing anything in life, including creating wealth, is finding the purpose behind it. If you can find a purpose, then it will be meaningful.
In this context, if the purpose of building wealth is for society contribution, or personal enjoyment, or other justifiable reasons, then it becomes meaningful.
Well, I think that it has its positive and negative sides. At one point, you could feel the accomplishment and satisfaction, but on the other hand, how do you really know that if it’s for real? That it is really our lifelong dream? I think that it will be more meaningful if we use it for something else good than on ourselves. But don’t get me wrong, we should and always enjoy our life. ^_^
So I think that wealth building is very meaningful knowing that it can be a benefit for us and the people around us.
It can also make a difference in life. However, helping the society and the people around us is I think, the most meaningful action in life.=)
That’s like asking whether earning money is meaningless. Like what Klaudiia and jen have mentioned, if there’s a purpose, then it’s never meaningless.
I find that wealth building is a neccessary skill and habit to grow and nuture. This world revolves largely on dollars and cents to get things done. Without a material form of credit, it will be impossible or extremely difficult to achieve much. Having a pool (preferably an olympic-sized one) of available resources will get you further, live longer, retire faster, help people more etc.
I am of course, most available to help you take the burden of your wealth if you’re ever too tired of it.. heh heh.
Interesting. What does one associate wealth with? Is it about money or is it health? Could it also be something of profuse abundance?
Everyone is driven by that something. There are some whose desire to acquire becomes the only whole goal of their lives that they subconsciously neglect the other beautiful aspects of it.
I heard of this story some time ago, and I started to reflect on it …
Thirty years ago, a young motivated man worked smart and hard so he could retire at the age of 55 years old. He was so successful that he managed to retire at 45 years old.
He bought a beautiful house by the beach and marvelled the gitters of the sun from the sea. “Beautiful…”, he said. From a distance, he saw an old friend pulling his fishing net up from the bottom of the sea. His kids were standing beside him, cheering at the sight of the fishes. “One warm, happy family…” he smiled to himself and walked towards his friend.
“Why are you working here instead of working in the city? You could easily earn much more and then enjoy life here.” His friend laughed and replied, “well, thats what I have been doing all years, arent I? Enjoying each day doing what I am currently doing.”
This journey of ours being a temporary stay is like a baby in our mother’s womb - each day we grow and learn. That is the beauty of life formation, isnt it? So my friend, have you been enjoying that wealth you are building?
