Teh Tarik? Or Time Tarik?

In the local context, ‘tarik’ is a Malay word that means ‘pull’. ‘Teh Tarik’ is a local drink that literally translated means ‘tea, pulled’, and if those of you who are not in Singapore have a taste, it’s really good! Anyhow, there was a woman I encountered who was in charge of the teh tarik stall, and she didn’t just make teh, she literally distorted time for me. It took her a record 20 minutes to forget our orders three times before the drink arrived at my table.

So I told her today, if I could pay her some time later…
