Tissue Bookings
Have you ever wondered why Singaporeans are the only society in the world that uses packets of tissue papers to reserve their seats at the food courts? What led up to this curious behavior? What do you think tourists might say if they saw this? What if you just went up and sat there in spite of it, claiming your own packet of tissue was on it?
You know my gut instinct? Go collect all the tissue paper packs and start selling them and make a quick buck. I guess everyone would be out buying packets of tissue and selling them on the corner of every food court and make a fortune, maybe.
If this practice was banned, perhaps then they would be forced to use other things for our food court reservation system – like plastic forks and spoons from the food stalls…
I think this will be an excellent Ph.D. research topic for Social Psychology. Any takers? J
