Delayed Response to Bali Attacks

I just found out I had a draft post lingering in my mailbox about the Bali Bomb blasts. I often encourage people to share, but I didn’t think some people would go out there and share misery and death. I was in Bali in 2003 after the blasts and I remember it being a wonderful and quiet place to go to. Too quiet. The fact was that people were afraid.

Just because it hasn’t happened in Singapore doesn’t mean that it couldn’t happen. In fact, I think the scares have come too close for comfort for some of you – it’s just that because of the nature of security, many people were saved because the potential perpetrators were arrested before any harm was done.

Once again, while I can’t comment on the political and economic chaos some of these people want to create, I trust that the rest of us feel protected and safe. That’s something we should constantly look forward to every day, live our life cleanly with a sense of gratitude.

Gratitude, I think, is missing in the lives of many people. The sensation of gratitude is a very humbling and quiet feeling that resides deep in your gut, and consoles you. If you could help people reach that sense of quiet humility, there would be a lot more peace in the world today.

Every day, wake up and ask yourself: how many things am I grateful for?

And live with the quiet balance in your life.
